HOW TO MAKE VIDEOS LOOK LIKE GIFS
Hi friends! If you’re a content creator like me and have seen (and loved!) those super cool gif/stop-motion style videos on Instagram that are high resolution but also have that choppy stop motion photo, read on!
There are apps out there to create a stop motion / GIF quality out there from your phone, but what happens if you’ve taken a cool video on your DSLR with a bit of bokeh, and now you want to give it that skipped frame quality that you see on some creator’s Instagrams? It’s easier than you might think to get that quality!
Step 1:
Open your video in Adobe Premiere Pro. Navigate to Settings —> Sequence Settings
Step 2:
Navigate to Timebase and drop the frames/second to 10 or 12. Close this window and playback your video to see the result
Step 3:
Export your video as a H.264 video sized at 1080x1920 for social media or as a Animated GIF if you are using the GIF on your website or email!
Depending on your file size you may need to decrease the size of the file which can be done in Premiere Pro, in Photoshop or using an online GIF Optimizer! Have any questions? Feel free to reach out over social media at @em_rowsell or via email at contact@emilyrowsell.com
